Totech wins Global Technology AwardsWe would like to thank all our visitors for taking the time to visit our stand during Productronica in Munich on 14-17 November 2017. It was our pleasure to be able to welcome so many valued customers and we enjoyed many inspiring discussions.

We were truly impressed by the number of visitors – 44,000 from 85 countries came to Munich, an increase of almost 20 percent over the previous event. At times, it felt like most of them were on our booth!  It was certainly a very busy week with great interest in our products & technologies.

As might have been expected, there was a huge focus throughout the show on Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things, with many of the major exhibitors demonstrating or discussing intelligent networking of equipment to allow manufacturers to produce with optimum flexibility and efficiency.

Totech, exhibiting as part of the ASYS Group, was no exception with exhibits presenting the next step on the road to the Smart Factory – autonomous material logistics for all aspects of the SMT line.

The ‘Material Logistics’ concept is made up of three main components: Central component storage, Autonomous Indoor Vehicles (AIV) and material stations. All the components communicate with each other via ASYS PULSE software and pass the jobs to the next step.

The Dry Tower from Totech is used as the central component storage system. The Dry Tower can be connected to different inventory control systems (WMS) through standard interfaces. Automated input and output at a central point reduces personnel time. Incoming components are determined by image size recognition as reels or trays and are automatically fed into the system for safe storage.

Manufacturer-independent AIVs then transport material around the facility for continuous production. The driverless transport systems manoeuvre autonomously in production and feed the required material to the line, including magazines, component reels, paste, and cleaning paper. The live demonstrations of the AGVs proved to be a huge success with visitors.

Another highlight of the show for us was the winning of a Global Technology Awards for our XSDR Floor Life Reset Cabinets. The award was presented to CEO Jos Brehler during a ceremony on Tuesday November 14th as winner in the category of “Storage Systems”. Well done team!

That is the exhibition season over for this calendar year but we look forward to welcoming you all to one of our booths in 2018.  Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions about any of our products and services.
